On 30th September 2023, the "National Day Concert – A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains" was successfully held at the Hong Kong Cultural Center to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. This marked the 14th consecutive year that CMB Wing Lung Bank sponsored the National Day Concert of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Over 800 guests from CMB Wing Lung Bank and China Merchants Bank (Hong Kong Branch) enjoyed the wonderful concert alongside an additional 1,000 audiences.

Having been based in Hong Kong for 90 years, CMB Wing Lung Bank has been a steadfast supporter of the city's cultural and artistic development. The concert commenced with Lu Qiming's "Ode to the Red Flag" as the opening piece, followed by the Hong Kong premiere of "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains" by Zhao Lin. The audience was enraptured by the magnificent melodies that intertwined folk music and orchestral compositions. Prior to the Concert, the Bank hosted a National Day Concert Celebration Reception, where guests and friends gathered for toasts, wishing the country for peace and prosperity.

*The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is the first founded professional Western music orchestra in Hong Kong, established in 1895, under the name Sino-British Orchestra, renamed as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 1957, and became a professional orchestra in 1974. HK Phil is financially supported by the Government of the HKSAR, and is a charitable organization.
