To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Bank title-sponsored an original play In Times of Turmoil produced and played by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre*. The Bank shared this Hong Kong-representative story with our customers by inviting them to the exclusive performance on 1st July 2017.

Based on the 2013 novel by Dr. Leung Fung Yee, In Times of Turmoil shared a similar background with CMB Wing Lung Bank, the story took place in Hong Kong and Guangzhou during 1940s. It described the bonds of family, friends, love and nation during the roughest time of the period, where the core characters risked their lives for their loved ones, as well as for the country.

*Established in 1977, and incorporated in 2001, the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre is the longest standing and largest professional theatre company in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Repertory Theatre celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2017.
