General Instructions

Your instructions are considered as received only when a transaction number is given by the Bank after you have clicked "Confirm". In case there is any communication interruption after your confirmation, please use the "NET Transaction History" service in our web site or call (852) 2952 6666 to check if your instructions have been received.

Usage of "Send" and "Clear" buttons

  • For enquiry service
    • When "Send" is clicked, system will verify the information. If the information is correct, customer's request will be processed accordingly.
    • When "Clear" is clicked, the input information will be wiped off.
  • For transaction service (monetary & non-monetary a/c instructions)
    • When "Send" is clicked, system will verify the information. After verification, the information will be displayed on the screen again for confirmation by customer before the request is processed.
    • When "Clear" is clicked, the input information will be wiped off.

Usage of "Confirm", "Back" and "Cancel" buttons
  • For transaction service (monetary & non-monetary a/c instructions)
    • "Confirm", "Back" and "Cancel" buttons are used for transaction services (monetary & non-monetary a/c instructions) only.
    • When "Confirm" is clicked, the instructions are irrevocable and will be processed accordingly.
    • When "Back" is clicked, previous screen will be shown and all input are retained.
    • When "Cancel" is clicked, the instructions will be cancelled.

Express Transfer service time

  • 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Mon - Fri)
  • Service is not available on Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, when typhoon signal no.8 or above is hoisted or black rainstorm signal is in force

Processing time for a request

  • Fund transfer within CMBWLB
    • Request will be processed immediately.
    • Instructions given after cut-off time will be treated as next day transaction.
  • Fund transfer outside CMBWLB
    • e-Transfer
      • For instructions received on a working day before cut-off time, transaction process will be completed within 2 working days.
    • Express Transfer
      • Request will be processed and complete within the same day.


Transaction limits

  • For fund transfer to account maintained with CMBWLB under the name of the same primary account holder:
    • Minimum limit per transaction : HKD1.00
    • Daily cycle limit : HKD2,000,000.00
    • Group daily cycle limit : HKD4,000,000.00(including Fixed Deposit Service)
  • For fund transfer to a 3rd party account maintained with CMBWLB or other bank:
    • Minimum limit per transaction : HKD1.00
    • Daily cycle limit : HKD1,000,000.00
    • Group daily cycle limit : HKD1,000,000.00
  • The transaction limitation of Cash Advance Service of Credit Card account is the same as that of ATM Service.


Service charges

  • Express Transfer Service
    • HKD 60 Equivalent (debit from the withdrawal account)
  • Credit Card Cash Advance Service
    • Handling fee will be debited from the credit card account.
    • A handling fee of 3% on withdrawal amount (min: HKD50) plus HKD20 per transaction will be charged for cash advance from credit card account.
    • A finance charge of 30% per annum (APR: 35.51%) will be applied to the outstanding cash advance balance on a daily basis, starting from the day of cash withdrawal.
  • Correspondent bank charges are to be paid by beneficiary.

    • HKD current account, HKD passbook savings account or HKD statement savings account maintained with CMBWLB under the name of the same primary account holder.
    • HKD current account, HKD passbook savings account or HKD statement savings account maintained with CMBWLB under the name of a 3rd party.
    • Reminibi current account and Renminbi savings account maintained with CMBWLB under the name of a 3rd party.
    • HKD account maintained with other bank under the name of the same primary account holder or a 3rd party.
    • USD TT / Renminbi current account, USD TT / Renminbi / (USD) Combination savings account maintained with CMBWLB under the name of the same primary account holder.

Fixed Deposit

Accounts applicable

  • Registration of the fixed deposit signature number and a primary account (in HKD) or a foreign currency combination savings account with our Head Office or any one of our branches is necessary before using this service.
  • The amount assigned for creating a HKD fixed deposit will be debited to the primary account. For creating a foreign currency fixed deposit, the amount will be debited to the foreign currency combination savings account. Both the withdrawal and deposit accounts should be under the name of the same primary account holder.
  • Instruction to deal with fixed deposit account at maturity, e.g. "transfer principal & interest to withdrawal account" can be given to us at the same time.
  • For "transfer principal & interest to withdrawal account" instructions, the principal & interest of a HKD fixed deposit will be credited to the primary account and to the foreign currency combination savings account in case of a foreign currency fixed deposit.

Purchase of Cashier Order

Accounts Applicable

  • Registration of the service with our Head Office or any one of our branches is necessary before using this service.
  • Withdrawal account should be the NET Banking Primary account (which can be a HKD current account, HKD passbook savings account, or HKD statement savings account with CMBWLB under the same customer name)

Service time

  • 09:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
  • 09:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. (Saturday)
  • No service on Sundays and public holidays

Processing time

  • Cashier order will be ready for collection at the designated office 2 hours after the request has been accepted. If the request is accepted after 03:00 pm on Monday to Friday or 10:30 am on Saturday, the cashier order can be collected after 10:00 am on the next working day.
  • Cashier order can only be collected by the requesting customer at Head Office or branch.
  • In case the request cannot be successfully executed, the cashier order amount will be credited to the customer's withdrawal account. Handling fee is non-refundable.

Transaction limits

  • Minimum limit per transaction : HKD1.00
  • Daily cycle limit : HKD100,000.00
  • Group daily cycle limit : HKD1,000,000.00 (including purchase of demand draft, foreign currency notes, telegraphic transfer and MPF contribution)

  • The current accounts must be maintained with CMBWLB under the name of the same primary account holder.
