To celebrate the 73th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Bank sponsored “A National Day Celebration concert” presented by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra* (“HK Phil”). It was successfully held at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 17th September 2022 (Saturday) under the anti-epidemic measures. It was the 13th consecutive year for the Bank sponsoring the event to contribute in the field of art and culture.

The Bank has invited over 800 clients and partners from various sectors to enjoy the amazing live concert and celebrate the National Day together with other 1,000 audiences. This year’s concert featured Tan Dun’s Three Muses in Video Game, Trombone Concerto and Anton Bruckner’s Symphony no. 7. HK Phil’s music director Maestro Jaap van Zweden led the show as the conductor and joined hand with Jörgen van Rijen, the Principal Trombone at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam to present the masterpieces of Tan Dun and Anton Bruckner. The passionate performance of the artists brought an amazing show to the audiences.

As an important event to celebrate the National Day and promote the development of art in Hong Kong, the Bank will continue to adhere to our business, follow the principle of “WHERE-EVER YOU TAKE; WHERE-EVER YOU GIVE”, shoulder the corporate responsibilities, and support Hong Kong to develop as an international cultural exchange.

*The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is the first founded professional Western music orchestra in Hong Kong, established in 1895, under the name Sino-British Orchestra, renamed as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 1957, and became a professional orchestra in 1974. HK Phil is financially supported by the Government of the HKSAR, and is a charitable organization.
