The Bank has been supporting "A National Day Celebration" Concert presented by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra ("HK Phil")* since 2009, to celebrate the establishment of the People's Republic of China and to contribute in the field of art and culture. It is the 9th consecutive year for the Bank to sponsor the event in 2017.

The Bank sponsored the performance on 16th September 2017 (Saturday), where HK Phil's Principal Guest Conductor Yu Long set off a breathtaking musical firework for "A National Day Celebration" Concert with Tang Junqiao, a renowned player of bamboo flute, and the HK Phil Orchestra in bringing the most demanding piece, Chou Kong Shan, composed by Guo Wenjing. Yu Long continued his magnificent conducting skills to present Berlioz's vividly colourful Symphonie fantastique, which described his passionate affection.

*The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is the first founded professional Western music orchestra in Hong Kong, established in 1895, under the name Sino-British Orchestra, renamed as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in 1957, and became a professional orchestra in 1974.
