Since the beginning of 2020, COVID-19 had been spread around the world. The consecutive outbreaks dealt a serious blow to the economy of Hong Kong. During Mid-Autumn Festival this year, the Bank had appointed a Social Enterprise, Gingko House*, to tailor make 2,600 pieces of Low-sugar white lotus mooncake with salty egg yolk, which is known as “CMB Wing Lung Mooncake”. In this activity, the Bank and certain staff had donated 1,600 pieces and 1,000 pieces of mooncakes respectively, in the hope of offering a warm gift to people in need. “CMB Wing Lung Mooncake” were delivered to the elderly and grassroots through Christian Family Service Centre# so that they can celebrate the festival with their families.

*Ginkgo House was established in 2003. It is the first organization in Hong Kong to promote employment for the elderly, providing employment opportunities for the elderly who have financial and psychological needs to work.

#Christian Family Service Centre was established in 1954, to help Mandarin speaking refugees. Material aid, financial support and guidance in finding jobs were provided to needy families.
