The Bank organized a donation campaign in May to support the relief work of United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)* in Sichuan Yaan, which helped the children victims and families suffering from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake happened in April. The earthquake caused 1.5 million people suffered and numerous homes destroyed. In one of the seriously suffered districts, over 20,000 children were affected. In response to the call for donations, 252 colleagues of our Bank raised a total of HK$49,510 within just a week, extending a helping hand to help the vulnerable victims.
