As the worldwide largest environmental movement, Earth Hour 2018 was held on 24th March (Saturday) at 8:30pm local time. This year, WWF Hong Kong collected over 11,200 pledges. With the support all around Hong Kong, lots of lights were switched off during the pre-set hour. The Bank also turned off the neon sign lightboxes and outdoor billboard spot lights at Wing Lung Bank Building in Central and Wing Lung Bank Centre in Mong Kok in support of the theme of the event: “Let Nature Shine”. Moreover, the Bank also invited tenants at Wing Lung Bank Centre and Bank Centre Mall in Mong Kok to turn off the outdoor billboard lighting to demonstrate our support and care to Mr. Earth.

*Earth Hour is a global event for energy conservation. It advocates families and corporations to turn off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances for 1 hour at 8:30p.m. on the last Saturday in March every year. Since the Holy Saturday has fallen on the last Saturday of March in 2018, Earth Hour was moved a week ahead than its traditional date.
