The Bank, together with 4,000 premises and properties in Hong Kong, has signed up the “Charter on External Lighting”* launched by the Environment Bureau. The lighting installations at CMB Wing Lung Bank Building in Central, CMB Wing Lung Bank Centre, Bank Centre Mall in Mong Kok and around 30 branches with external lightings (shopfront signs, billboards, digital screens) will be switched off from 11p.m. or midnight to 7a.m., to address the nuisance and energy wastage problem caused by external lighting.

*The Environment Bureau (ENB) has launched the “Charter on External Lighting” with effect from 1st April 2016 and invited corporations to switch off lighting installations of decorative, promotional or advertising purposes which affect the outdoor environment during the preset time.
