How can I open a Net Securities account with CMB Wing Lung Bank?

To become our Net securities customer, you have to open a securities account with us. Simply open the accounts at any of our branches. Registration for Net Securities Service can be done at the same time.

How can I logon to CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services?

Customer, who has registered a valid email address with the bank, can logon to CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services by simply clicking NET Securities on the left hand side of the official website of CMB Wing Lung Bank. You are then required to enter your Logon ID, password and verification code. Next, enter a one-time Security Code generated by the Security Token (if the setting is enabled) or SMS One-Time-Password.

With dual protection, your online transactions and financial information will be securely protected against online banking frauds.

Why can’t I logon to CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services with my Logon ID and password?

Please ensure the Logon ID and password entered is correct. If you are a first-time user of CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services or a user with a new password, please change the password via CMB Wing Lung Personal NET Banking Services before logon to CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services.

Can I place an order outside trading hours?

Yes. We provide Net Securities Trading Service 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Please note that the validity of order is subject to the availability of funds or shares in your accounts, i.e. the order will be rejected if you do not have sufficient funds or shares in your account.

Can I sell shares bought on the same trade day?

Yes. Once your purchase order has been confirmed executed (fully or partially), you can sell the shares bought on the same trade day. (except China A Shares)

Can I use the proceeds of a sell order immediately to buy shares?

Yes. Once your sell order has been executed (fully or partially), the proceeds can be used immediately to buy shares.

Can I withdraw the proceeds of a sell order on the same trade day?

No. For shares listed on HKEX, it takes T+2 days for trade settlement, therefore the proceeds can be withdrawn on T+2 days the earliest (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays). For example, if you place a sell order on Friday, you can withdraw the proceeds on Tuesday. For shares listed on exchanges other than HKEX, settlement arrangement is made according to the rules of relevant exchange.

Can I place a buy order if I do not have sufficient funds in my settlement account at the time of order placement?

No. Buy order will not be accepted if you do not have sufficient funds in your settlement account.

Can I place short-sell order through the Net Securities system?

No. Sell order will be accepted only if you have sufficient shares available for sale in your securities account at the time of order placement.

Can I sell physical shares through Net Securities system directly?

No. Physical shares can only be sold after they are successfully deposited into your securities account with us. It usually takes 18 days for the process.

How can I know that my order has been received by you?

Order number will be allocated to each buy/ sell order when the order has been received. If you do not receive an order number after order confirmation, you may access "Day Order Journal" under "Securities trading → Buy/Sell" page, or "Transaction history" of "Securities trading" page to enquire the order status. If you have further questions, you may call 230 95555 for assistance.

Can I cancel or amend the order I have placed?

Yes, but you can only cancel or amend an outstanding order which has not been executed. Executed orders cannot be amended or cancelled.

Can I amend the order quantity and preferred price after an order has been placed?

According to the rule of the HKEX, order quantity cannot be increased after placement.You have to cancel the original order and place a new one, whereas preferred price canbe increased or decreased within specified spreads.The order will not be accepted and will be cancelled if your amended price deviates more than 20 spreads from the nominal priceof the stock.

Can I enquire my transaction history online?

You can view transaction history (including the enquiry date) for the past 180 days on Transaction History page online.

Can I amend/ cancel orders through cross-channels?

Yes. You can place, amend and cancel an order through any one of the channels provided by our Bank.

Can I trade odd lot shares through the NET Securities Service?

We take sell orders for odd lot shares; while purchase orders must be in board lots.

What types of order can I place through the NET Securities Service?

You can place at-auction order and at-auction limit order during pre-opening session. Enhanced limit order, special limit order, market order (for selling odd lots only) and limit order (for buying and selling board lots and also for selling special lots (i.e., board lots plus odd lots)) can be placed during continuous trading session.

What is a Day Order?

Day Order means that the order is valid during one trading day only. If it is placed during trading hours, the order will be valid throughout the same trade day as prescribed by HKEX. If it is placed outside trading hours (e.g. a non- trade day), your order will be valid during the immediate next trading session(s) subsequent to order placing.

Are there any transaction limits for Net Securities Trading?

Yes.
Maximum Limit per transaction: HKD equivalent 100,000,000
Daily transaction limit: HKD equivalent 500,000,000
(Note: Daily Transaction Limit is the summation of the considerations for all buy orders in all markets (executed and non-executed) plus the total amount of all sell orders in all markets (executed and non-executed) on the same day.)

When can I perform Securities Account transfer?

Securities Account transfer instructions can be conducted every day, with the cut-off time at 6:00p.m. from Monday to Saturday. Securities Account transfer instructions given after the cut-off time will be handled on the next working day.

Are there any margin fund transfer limits?

Yes.
Maximun limit of each transfer instruction and daily limit are HKD equivalent 999,999,999.

Do you provide free real-time stock price enquiry service?

If you are our Net Securities customer, you can enjoy 1,000 HK shares and China A shares free online real-time detailed quotes per calendar month per account. Additional 50 free detailed quotes (per successful HK shares transaction) and/or 20 free detailed quotes (per successful China A shares transaction) will be offered on the next trade day for every successful transaction. (The remaining free detailed quotes cannot be carried forward to the following month. The real-time detailed quotes will be reset to "1,000" for HK shares and China A shares on the first day of each month)

How can I place a valid pre-opening session order?

The at-auction order and at-auction limit order must be placed during the designated timeslot of pre-opening session or a period immediate prior to that session as defined by HKEX for execution in the pre-opening session.

Which channel is allowed to place trading orders of Global Securities?

Customers can place orders to trade US and Singapore Securities by using CMB Wing Lung NET Securities Services. The Bank also provides Hong Kong and China Securities Trading Services. CMB Wing Lung Automated Securities Services Trading Hotline only provide Hong Kong Securities Trading Services, while CMBWLB Wintech mobile banking services only provides mainland China, Hong Kong and US Securities Trading Services. Customers who would like to trade securities of other countries/market through the Bank, please visits any branches of the Bank or through Manned Securities Services Trading Hotline at 2543 3599.
